A choral celebration - Bach motets, Joubert and McDowall

City of Canterbury Chamber Choir
Edward Kemp-Luck, organ
George Vass, conductor

Having recently celebrated his 60th birthday with a fantastic concert at St John's Smith Square, respected British conductor George Vass is making his last appearance with the City of Canterbury Chamber Choir after 22 years as Music Director.

In a rich and varied career, Vass is probably best known for his work as artistic director of the Presteigne Festival, Nova Music Opera and Orchestra Nova and for his advocacy of contemporary British music and composers.

Come and hear George and the choir celebrate 22 amazing years of music making with a fantastic programme featuring three Bach motets and the music of two of the brightest lights of recent British choral music, John Joubert and Cecilia McDowall. With Parry's 'I was glad' to help round off the evening, how can you resist?

A retiring collection will raise money for the Royal Society of Musicians of Great Britain - Britains oldest music charity. Its aims remain as relevant today as they were in the earliest years to provide immediate financial assistance to musicians unable to work due to accident, illness or old age. Being a charity run by musicians for musicians, the Society is uniquely placed to fully understand the challenges faced within the profession.
